Digital transformation strategy for French National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information (IGN)

The National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information (IGN) is the reference public operator for geographic & forest information in France, under the joint authority of the Ministries in charge of ecology and forestry. In preparation of its new Objectives and Performance Contrat for 2017-2021, the Ministry of the Environment wished to obtain strategic recommendations on business models related to new opportunities for the digital transformation of our economy. The context in which IGN evolved underwent several major changes mainly due to the digital transformation. The Ministry commissioned LGI to conduct a study on digital-related business models for IGN. The goals were to provide strategic recommendations on potential business models for the Institute, in relation to the digital transformation.
